Egg CSA
What is a CSA?
CSA Stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA allows local residents to have direct access to high quality, fresh produce grown locally. When you become a member of a CSA, you’re purchasing a “share” of produce, in this case its our eggs from pasture rasied chickens. Weekly, for 12 weeks, we will deliver that share of eggs to your door or a convenient drop-off location in your neighborhood. CSA members pay for an entire 12 week season upfront. In the spirit of CSAs, this early payment enables us to plan, purchase new feed, make equipment repairs, and more.
About Our Eggs
Our pasture-raised chickens consume nutrients you can't find in store bought eggs. They dine on food scraps, bugs, grass, clover & herbs. This diet will contribute to an egg with a whole lot of flavor and is more what nature had in mind for a chicken.
We never use GMO's or Antibiotics and the chickens diet is all natural. This is one reason our eggs have deeper orange yolks with rich flavor rather than pale yellow yolks like store bought eggs.
Nature's Grove Farm's eggs typically go from chicken to customer in a day or two. Grocery store eggs can be months old by the time you get them and lack both the flavor and nutrition compared to our eggs.
Most commercial-industry egg farms keep chickens in small cages for their entire lifetime. The hens never leave the coop and barely have room to turn around, let alone be able to demonstrate the normal behaviors of a chicken. Even commercial eggs you find that are labeled “cage-free” are usually produced in a warehouse with hundreds of chickens crammed together and little natural light or fresh feed.
Chickens are more naturally inclined and proven to be healthier when able to forage for themselves and participate in normal chicken activities, such as dust bathing and nightly roosting.
The nutrients to increase the amount of fatty acids in eggs come from chickens eating things like bugs, leafy greens, corn and flowers—ingredients completely vacant from a caged hen’s diet.
So if you have never had all natural eggs fresh from the farm, we invite you to taste the difference.
